Gestión de sustancias químicas
Chemical Substances in our Supply Chain
The Sharp Code of Conduct requires the management of chemical substances in accordance with applicable environmental laws, regulations, and regional requirements. Suppliers are expected to meet these requirements as part of our compliance framework.
Protecting human health
In line with our Basic Environmental Policy, we identify and monitor chemical substances that may pose risks to human health or the environment. Where technically and legally feasible, we seek to limit or avoid the use of such substances.
We implement procedures to support the safe handling, use, and control of chemical substances across our operations and aim to reduce overall consumption where practicable.
Air and Water Quality Management
We manage emissions into air and water in accordance with applicable legal requirements and, in some cases, apply internal operational standards designed to support improved environmental performance.
At certain production sites, including LCD manufacturing facilities, measures such as abatement systems are used to reduce emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The performance of these systems is monitored in line with internal and regulatory requirements.
Product Safety Data
Where chemical substances are used in products or production processes, Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are used to communicate relevant information on properties, hazards, and safe handling.
This supports appropriate use in line with regulatory requirements and supplier instructions.
Regulatory Compliance and Information Management
- We comply with applicable legislation relating to chemical substances, which may include:
- Classification, labelling, and packaging requirements
- Restrictions or prohibitions on specific substances
- Reporting of emissions into air and water
- Workplace exposure controls and occupational health measures
We maintain processes to manage product content information and regulatory reporting obligations as required.
